Benefits of drinking Hemp Tea
Hemp tea is often obtained exclusively from the leaves of the female hemp plant. Most times, the stems or stalks are not used. The used hemp leaves are dried in the production process for the tea. Its taste and smell are very aromatic and remind of other herbal teas. Hemp tea is often used in Chinese medicine and the Indian tradition of ayurveda.
In order to refine the tea, you can add different kinds of herbs and plants like rose petals, hops, hibiscus, and other additional ingredients, just like we at Signature Products do. We offer seven different kinds of hemp tea, including a sleep tea, an energy tea and a detox tea. Hemp leaves are always the basis in those different variations.
The best way to prepare hemp tea is by pouring 150ml of boiling water over 1-2 tsp of the hemp tea. Let the tea steep for 5-8 minutes and enjoy lukewarm. If you’d like to spice things up you can add some oat milk or another vegan milk alternative.
Due to the different cannabinoids, such as CBD, hemp tea has various possible positive impacts. As with other kinds of teas, the taste of the hemp tea is dependent on the amount of time you let it sit. But the amount of time also influences the effects the hemp tea might have. If you prefer an invigorating effect, let the tea infuse for 5 minutes. After 15 minutes of steeping, the tea has a rather calming and relaxing effect and can help falling asleep faster and sleeping through the night. That is why a long steeped hemp tea is an excellent preparation for a restful and regenerating night.
Hemp leaves have a great nutritional profile including various vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. They are rich in vitamins such as B1, B2 and also E. In addition to that, trace elements and minerals such as iron, calcium, potassium, copper and magnesium are also found in hemp tea.
Furthermore, the tea is rich in terpenes and flavonoids. Terpenes are found in all plants and are responsible for their unique and individual smells and tastes. They have the ability to stimulate our serotonin production and dopamine release. Both are known as the happy hormones. Flavonoids are antioxidants and considered to be cell protectors in the fight against free radicals.
Approximately 30-90 minutes after drinking hemp tea, the effects can be expected to occur: a stimulation of the digestion, the reduction of stress symptoms and the brightening of the mood. If you have digestive problems, e.g. an irritable bowel, hemp tea can help with cramps, constipation and diarrhea. Also, to relieve pain, hemp tea can be a great remedy due to its antispasmodic effects. Therefore it is often used to alleviate menstrual cramps. Hemp tea, which can dilate the arteries, can also be tried as a natural blood pressure reducer. Additionally, the tea is popular during diets as it can curb appetite and have a detoxifying effect.
