Hemp Seeds: A healthy protein source

Hemp seeds are a great vegan protein source that go well with almost any dish, from soup to stir-fry. They are great for refining sweet as well as hearty dishes and can be easily integrated into daily meals, e.g. as a topping for porridge, salad or as a snack.

Hemp Seeds - peeled, unpeeled and roasted
Peeled, unpeeled or even tastefully roasted food-grade hempseeds of the highest purity.

Hemd seeds, derived from the hemp plant, are not psychoactive since they contain only small traces of THC. Signature Products produces hulled as well as unhulled hemp seeds and both certified organic and conventional.

The seeds have a subtle nutty flavor, are very crunchy and their shape remind of buckwheat. Technically hemp seeds are a nut. They can be eaten raw, roasted or cooked and can also be processed into hemp milk. When roasted, the taste of the seeds reminds of bacon and fried shrimp.

Naturally glutenfree, the seeds have a very high nutritional value and at the same time provide a great source of protein for vegans, vegetarians and everybody else that wants to enjoy great taste combined with healthy ingredients. More than 25 percent of their total calories are made up of high-quality protein. That is even more than chia and flax seeds.

They also perform very well in comparison to protein sources from animals since they are easier to digest. In addition to that, hemp seeds have an optimal omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acid ratio. And it doesn't stop here: the seeds are rich in vitamins such as A, E, B, D and K. As well as in minerals, e.g. potassium, sulfur, iron, magnesium, zinc and manganese. An advantage the unhulled hemp seeds have in contrast to hulled: they have a higher fiber content and are therefore a great support for the digestive system.

Consuming hemp seeds may help repair and moisturize dry and damaged skin, as well as support the growth of healthy hair and nails. Furthermore, the seeds can help with muscle cramps and promote muscle regeneration. Hemp is also one of the few oil plants whose seeds contain gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This has been linked to several health benefits and can have anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and concentration-enhancing effects in the body.
