Last week, our CEO and Co-Founder Florian Pichlmaier visited Brussels, hometown of EIHA and the EU Commission. In the two days of his visit, he discussed the strategy of the EIHA for 2022 and shared many insights of the work we do at Signature and the industries perspective on the hemp market.
Besides his visit at EIHA, he also met up with political actors from different parties that are present in the EU commission to discuss the current and future situation of the hemp market in Europe.
Just recently, EIHA was able to achieve another success. After long negotiations, the European parliament voted on raising the THC level on hemp fields from 0.2% to 0.3% in October 2020. Now, one year later, the final proposal was adopted by the council and will be effective starting January 1st, 2023. This way it will be possible for farmers to receive direct payments for hemp varieties registered in the EU Catalogue that have a maximum level of THC of 0,3 %
